Katie Chester will be a Torchbearer and carry the Olympic Flame!Back in June 2011, The Axholme Academy decided to nominate a student to carry the Olympic Torch. This idea was taken to the staff who unanimously decided that 14 year old Katie Chester should be the student chosen for this honour.
BBC News School ReportOn the 15th March 14 students from Years 8, 9 and 10 were involved in the BBC News School Report, led by Miss Colclough. The task was to produce a news report by 2pm and have it edited and loaded onto the website by 4pm.
They were split into small groups and each reported on a different news story. The stories chosen to be covered were; the transition of the school from North Axholme to The Axholme Academy, the Olympics and also literacy across the country.
